Hey! It's March already!

Here are a few of the things have happened over these three months we've been away from Blog Land:

A. I actually turned in the first draft of the first of many chapters of my dissertation (and it wasn't thrown back at me!).

B. My brother Kevin got married to a lovely girl named Kristina. On Valentine's Day. In Florida. SWEET! It was cold, but gorgeous. We all boo-hooed our way through the ceremony (which Jeff performed) on the beach.

C. We had a visit from Perry and Jen (of the California Perry and Jens) and it was AWESOME in spite of the fact that it only lasted 36 hours. I spent a few days beforehand in Chicago with Jen, and we got this picture taken the night we visited Second City (a comedy school):

The conference she attended was at the Palmer House Hotel. A-maz-ing!

Jen and I also had a chance to visit the Art Institute, which happens to have several pieces by my favorite artist - Rodin:

Finally: D. Jack has morphed into a completely un-babyish little boy. He knows pretty much the whole alphabet and most of the numbers 1 through 10. He sings "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "Old MacDonald" like nobody's business. And he plays some mean drums. His asthma has been a thousand times better this year, but he's had a few ear infections. Overall, a MUCH better winter for us than his first!

See you soon!

WOW! First of all, who is the GORGEOUS woman in the green floral dress? You look stunning Stella!

Second, your boy is a genius... like his parents!

Can't wait to see you up close and in the flesh soon.
