Lawn and Garden

This week has been super warm; so Jackson is finally getting outside to play on a regular basis. His dad also got outside this week, but not to play (well, sort of). Jeff spent all day last Friday putting in our garden. Here are some highlights from the arrival of the sun in the northern U.S.

Friends of ours here gave Jackson a mini playground "castle" (I've been referring to it as Dunluce). He loves to play peek-a-boo by standing at the end of the tunnel and waiting for my head to pop up on the other side.


The dandelions in our yard don't stand a chance with Jackson around. The first day I put him out to play in the yard (before these photos were taken), he crawled over to a dandelion that was all white and fluffy, and opened his mouth REEEEEEALLY wide and almost chomped down on it before I could stop him. After that, he's decided it's a lot better just to pull them up and squish them.



And this is what I see most of the time as I'm running after him, trying to keep him from eating the latest thing he's discovered on the ground:

Here is our garden. It looks wee, but it's loaded with veggies! Jeff is so proud of himself (as he should be, of course!).


(For those of you in Ireland, yes, our yard is that big. We're still recovering from the shock!)

But, at the end of a long day of gardening and eating random bits of grass, Jack's favorite thing is still a good cuddle.

Ice What?

Jeff spent the day over at the church working outside to help clear up the playground. So when he came home and said "I'd like some ice cream," I thought that sounded like a good idea. (For those of you keeping score, I only took one tiny bite...) Anyway, we thought Jackson might like a bite, too. Fortunately, Jeff had his phone ready to record. Hilarity ensued:
