Land of Lewis and Tolkien

As if getting to see the Alps up close and personal wasn't enough excitement for one vacation, we also took a few days to visit my good friend Suzanne and her family in Oxford (yes, THAT Oxford!). Suzanne. Tareq, Malak and Sara are like family, and we had a terrific time catching up with them and seeing the sights. Oxford is everything we expected it to be - fantastically old, magical and beautiful. And, of course, for reading nerds like Jeff and me, the home to two scholars whose writings have shaped our lives: C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien. Here are a few pictures from our time in this gorgeous city!

Pumpkin Baby with C.S. Lewis

One of Oxford's very old buildings (they were everywhere!)

The Bird and Baby (we had lunch here - a famous Tolkien/Lewis site)

The Radcliffe Camera (probably Oxford's most famous library)
